CHLAMYDIA TEST

Facts:

• Chlamydia is one of the most commonly sexually transmitted infections worldwide.
   
• Sexually active young adults (15-29 years) are most at risk, especially those with varying sexual partners.
   
• In Demark alone, 50,000 people are estimated to have Chlamydia,
  with 30,000 new cases every year.

Regular testing is important because the symptoms are not always easy to spot
and approx. 2/3 of all women do not detect if they are infected with Chlamydia.
If left untreated, the disease can have serious consequences, leading to:

• Infertility
   
• Increasing risk of ectopic pregnancies
   
• Increasing risk of premature birth
   
• Pelvic inflammatory disease
   
• High risk of pregnant mothers passing on the disease to their
  new-born infant.
