B Streptococci and Chlamydia trachomatis

• Infections with Chlamydia trachomatis and Streptococci B
  are among the most relevant and most dangerous pathogens affecting newborn babies.
   
• Approximately 40% of neonatal infections in the first 3 days are caused by streptococcus B, which can become serious and can lead to meningitis, pneumonia and septic shock.

An early diagnosis in the pregnant woman is extremely important as premature babies are very often affected. Testing is also critical for the early diagnosis of streptococcus B in newborn babies.  AbbloCombi chlamy-strepB easily detects both bacteria antigens directly with ABBLO's combination cassette of Chlamy-C and streptoCARE B, enabling two main infections affecting newborn babies to be ruled out without having to perform multiple smears.
